1. Save the Children Project:
Study on Health Human Resources: Baseline information and gaps in numbers and capacities of front line human resources for health - ANM, AWW, ASHA
PHRN had bid for a Save the Children project and was selected to carry out this six months study. This is a six months research project till December 2012 and will be conducted in three states: Orissa, Bihar and Rajasthan to assess: the availability and deployment of health human resources; the existing and required skill sets of frontline health workers to effectively deliver health services to the new-borns and children below 2 years and; the Functional job analysis of frontline health workers and scope of rationalisation of jobs of frontline health workers.
2. Futures Group Project:
Capacity Need Assessment of Family Planning Programme in Jharkhand
This study was for three months (December 2011 - February 2012). This was a capacity need assessments of the state leadership, managers (family planning cell, district and block level, service providers, data analysts and demographers) in three districts of Jharkhand namely Giridih, Simdega, and West Singhbhum. The objectives of the capacity needs assessment were to:
assess and document the current levels of capacity across different leadership, management, and technical areas for the different levels of functionaries; identify and prioritize areas of capacity building needs, for the different levels of functionaries and; draft a capacity building plan to address the needs for the respective state, district, and block level functionaries. There was a debriefing with the State officials at the end of the project.
